TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE I - WEEK 7
TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE I
WEEK 7
15/09/2025 - 19/09/2025
INTRODUCTION
This week, I handled three classes covering the topics of liquid pressure, chemical formula, and manometer. I also joined in the celebration of Engineer’s Day, participated in the mid-day meal distribution, attended the assembly organized for Hindi Day, and served as an invigilator for Aksharamuttam.
CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
This week, I had the privilege of teaching students of Classes VIII and IX in Chemistry and Physics. In total, I handled four periods, ensuring that each lesson was well-prepared and effectively delivered. Prior to taking the classes, I dedicated time to planning and organizing the lessons so that the concepts were presented in a clear, logical, and systematic manner, in alignment with the curriculum.
On Monday, 15/09/2025, during the 5th period, I handled Physics for Class 8B on the topic Liquid Pressure. To make the lesson engaging, I introduced the concept through everyday examples such as water tanks and dams, which helped students relate the abstract concept to practical situations. Demonstrations and questioning techniques were also used to check their prior knowledge and sustain their curiosity.
On Tuesday, 16/09/2025, in the 1st period, I taught Chemistry for Class 9A on Chemical Formula. Before introducing new concepts, I revised the basics of elements and symbols to build a strong foundation. I then explained how chemical formulas are derived, using step-by-step illustrations and relatable examples from common compounds. Students actively participated by writing formulas and sharing their answers, which made the session highly interactive.
On Wednesday, 17/09/2025, during the 5th period, I taught Physics again for Class 8B on the topic Manometer. The lesson was supported with visual aids and simple examples to explain the working and importance of a manometer in measuring gas pressure. The students were curious and asked relevant questions, which encouraged healthy discussions in the classroom.
On Thursday, 18/09/2025, remained absent on this day as I was writing the KTET exam category 2.
On Friday, 19/09/2025, I was on leave that day in order to attend the KTET examination category 3.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
On Monday, 15th September 2025, the school celebrated Engineer’s Day with great enthusiasm to honor the contributions of engineers to society. As part of the celebration, a special presentation was conducted highlighting the life and achievements of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, whose birthday is observed as Engineer’s Day in India. The presentation focused on the role of engineers in nation building, development of infrastructure, technology, and innovation. Students were also made aware of how engineering touches everyday life through roads, bridges, machines, communication systems, and medical technology. The session motivated students to think creatively, solve problems, and consider engineering as a meaningful career that serves society.

On Tuesday, I served as an invigilator for the Aksharamuttam Quiz, ensuring that the examination was conducted in a fair, disciplined, and smooth manner. I guided the students to their seats, distributed the question papers, clarified instructions, and maintained proper silence and order throughout the quiz. This experience helped me understand the importance of responsibility and impartiality during assessment activities.

On the same day, I also took part in the mid-day meal distribution program. I assisted in serving food to the students and ensured that the process was orderly and inclusive. This activity allowed me to interact with students informally and understand the importance of such welfare programs in supporting students’ health, attendance, and learning
